Memphis car wash murder fugitive captured in Texas

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — One of the men allegedly responsible for a Memphis car wash shooting that left two people dead and two severely injured was captured by the U.S. Marshals in Cedar Park, Texas, on Thursday.

21-year-old Devin Trust was taken into custody and charged with 2 counts of first-degree murder and two counts of criminal attempt first-degree murder.

On December 14, 2023, four people were shot at Miracle-Perfection Hand Carwash and Detailing on Riverdale Road in Memphis. Two of the four victims died from their injuries.

Two dead, three critical after ‘targeted attack’ at car wash

According to reports, the two victims who survived the shooting said that the suspects approached them “in illegal activity” and began shooting. They were able to identify Trust as one of the three shooters.

A warrant was issued for Trust on Sunday, March 3, and the case was adopted by the Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force.

Trust was arrested on Thursday by The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force in the 3100 block of Colonial Parkway, Cedar Park, Texas. He is currently awaiting extradition back to Shelby County.

The investigation was led by the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force in Memphis, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Team, and The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force in Austin, Texas.
