Members of Ukraine's Khartiia Brigade repels Russian assault near Lyptsi in Kharkiv Oblast – video

The 13th Brigade Khartiia of the National Guard of Ukraine jointly with a unit of the Rubizh Brigade repelled a Russian assault near the settlement of Lyptsi in Kharkiv Oblast.

Quote: "The UAV operators of the Khartiia [Brigade] detected about 10 Russian soldiers heading in the direction of Lyptsi. The enemy was attacked from small arms, artillery and attack drones. The Russians started fleeing, accidentally revealing their additional forces which were supposed to strengthen assault groups.

The members of the Khartiia and Rubizh brigades struck the cluster of Russian infantry from multiple-launch rocket systems, killing at least eight Russian soldiers. The Russians retreated."

Details: The Khartiia Brigade reports that they joined the combat mission on the Kharkiv front. The soldiers of the brigade are working jointly with a unit of the Rubizh Brigade.

Background:

• On 10 May, it was reported that Russian forces had intensified their activities in Kharkiv Oblast, with fighting taking place there.

• Russian forces have captured up to 10 villages in Kharkiv Oblast. The Khortytsia Operational Strategic Group said that the grey zone in Kharkiv Oblast was not expanding and that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were not letting Russian forces advance further into Kharkiv Oblast.

• Ukraine's Defence Forces stopped Russian attempts to break through the defences on the Kharkiv front. The situation has been somewhat stabilised, but fighting continues.

• On 16 May, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Ukraine’s Defence Forces disrupted Russia’s plans to drive a wedge into the built-up area of the city of Vovchansk in Kharkiv Oblast and gain a foothold there.
