Melbourne Residents Mask Up as Face Coverings Become Mandatory

Residents of Melbourne, Australia, were seen wearing masks on July 23, the first day face coverings became mandatory following a spike in coronavirus cases in Victoria.

This footage, posted to Facebook by Stephen Lambert, shows several people wearing masks near the Flinders Street railway station in the city.

“Way fewer people than usual,” Lambert wrote. “Shops shut. Everyone who is out in masks.”

Victoria Premier Daniel Andrews said he was “deeply grateful” to those wearing masks and following guidelines, the ABC reported.
