Melania Trump kicked off the weekend with a family getaway, including her mother, to a New Jersey golf club.

Wearing a white button-down shirt, floral capri pants, sunglasses, and sunny-yellow pumps, the first lady joined President Trump and their son Barron, 12, along with Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, and their son Theodore, 2, for a trip to the Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in New Jersey. Making a surprise appearance was Melania’s mother Amalija Knavs, 72, wearing a pale pink pantsuit.

Amalijia is seldom photographed with the first family; however, she and husband Viktor are reportedly White House regulars.

The 48-year-old looked outwardly happy as she strolled from the White House to Marine One (the family later switched to Air Force One for the majority of their short trip), after a busy few weeks visiting detention centers for immigrant children.

On Thursday, Melania traveled to Tucson, Arizona to a U.S. Customs and Border Protection facility that detains immigrant families who reportedly entered the country illegally. When agents showed her a photo of a young boy, who they said crossed the border without a parent, Melania remarked, “It’s incredible that as young as six years old somebody would leave him. Wow, very sad.”

That afternoon, she visited a facility in Phoenix, where, per CNN‘s Kate Bennett, protesters greeted her with an oversized, inflatable depiction of her husband wearing a white robe bearing the KKK symbol and holding a hood in his hand.

The previous week, the first lady visited an immigrant children’s shelter in McAllen, Texas, but her trip was dimmed by her outfit — for the excursion, Melania wore a $39 olive-green Zara jacket that bore the words, “I really don’t care. Do u?” Critics suggested the jacket signified support for the president’s “zero tolerance” policy that led to the separation of thousands of migrant families — which he later reversed — and Melania was called insensitive.

The president clarified that the jacket was a message to the media. “’I REALLY DON’T CARE, DO U?’ written on the back of Melania’s jacket, refers to the Fake News Media,” he tweeted on June 21st. “Melania has learned how dishonest they are, and she truly no longer cares!”
