Melania Trump's attempt to quash speculation over public absence dramatically backfires

Will the real Melania Trump please stand up?

The first lady returned to Twitter in an effort to quiet those conspiracy rumors about where she’s been. Has she moved back to New York City? Is she physically OK after kidney surgery? Melania hasn’t been seen in public for nearly three weeks, with outlets such as CNN, ABC News, and Vogue running stories about her 20-day absence.

Melania attempted to quash whispers about her whereabouts on Wednesday with the following tweet but only managed to make things worse.

Why? Because nobody believes she wrote it.

Melania’s last public appearance was on May 10, when she joined President Trump to welcome home the three Americans released from North Korea. Four days later, the White House announced that she underwent kidney surgery. FLOTUS has tweeted a few times since, thanking doctors and offering her condolences after the Santa Fe school shooting.

Perhaps instead of a tweet, she could provide some photographic evidence of her well-being? Nothing like a selfie with Kim Kardashian to prove you’re fine and dandy. Mrs. West is meeting President Trump today to discuss prison reform.
