During their White House meeting, Melania Trump and Argentine first lady Juliana Awada were both dressed for combat, of some sort.

Along with her husband, Melania welcomed Argentina’s president, Mauricio Macri, and his wife to the White House in a military-inspired jacket and matching skirt from the Altuzarra SS17 runway collection. She looked more prepared to face a lion on a super-chic safari than a gorgeous fellow first lady. The designer’s “Feday” military jacket with snakeskin-print piping, cargo-style pockets, and a belted waist costs $2,695, and the matching “Curry” skirt featuring the same piping, asymmetrical buttons, and a cargo pocket costs $1,075.

Oh, and the best part? This line was inspired by the cult classic Wild at Heart, according to Vogue, which starred Nicholas Cage and Laura Dern. We can’t help but wonder if Melania knew that when she picked the outfit. But we totally see the connection.

She perfectly paired the ensemble with Manolo Blahnik’s snakeskin BB pumps, which can cost anywhere between $350 and $1,000.

This bold look is out of sync with Melania’s typical taste, which usually consists of clean lines and minimal busy details.

The first lady of Argentina was also in a shocking outfit — but not because of the style. She paired her bright red peplum dress with matching pumps. The shoes in question are Aquazzura’s $695 Fellini suede and patent leather pumps, with a suede body and shiny heel. Don’t see what all the fuss is about? You might recognize the name Aquazzura as the company that sued Ivanka Trump for copying its shoes. Awkward. Wasn’t Argentina’s first lady prepped on all the U.S. first family’s current catastrophes? Is this a dig? Does she even care? If she’s as cool and classy as she looks, we’re going to go with the latter.

At the same time, maybe Ivanka has made it clear to everyone that she isn’t bothered by the brand. That would make sense since her very own sister, Tiffany Trump, was seen wearing a pair of American-flag-themed Aquazzura flats just months after the brand filed suit.
