After being in the spotlight for decades, having started a modeling career in her teens, first lady Melania Trump is no stranger to keeping in shape while keeping a tight schedule, from jet-setting between New York to hosting luncheons in the White House for International Women’s Day.
Healthy eating and staying fit are clearly priorities for the former socialite. While there doesn’t seem to be any tricks or secrets to the upkeep of Trump, she does heed sage advice from her mother.
When Allure Magazine asked what the best piece of advice her mother ever gave her during a 2011 interview, Trump replied that “relaxation” was the best piece of health advice.
“…when you take care of yourself, you can take care of the others. Also, regarding the skin and the body, to have some relaxation time. It’s good for your mind and your skin as well.”
Trump does, apparently, take rigorous care of her body, according to a GQ interview she conducted in 2016. It was said that she used ankle weights, moisturized regularly and ate “seven pieces of fruit every day.” Trump has said in the past that she did not prefer to diet but, rather, enjoyed eating healthfully. In the mornings, she would drink smoothies with lots of vitamins or oatmeal, as she revealed in one interview.
As for plastic surgery? The Slovenian beauty has vehemently denied having any work done, from breast augmentation to Botox.
“A lot of people say I am using all the procedure for my face. I didn’t do anything. I live a healthy life, I take care of my skin and my body. I’m against Botox, I’m against injections,” she had told GQ. However, she has admitted to ‘indulgences’ like Diet Coke (from the glass bottle) and a Chicken Parmigianino from Jean Georges.
She has also said that keeping a healthy diet is good for skin care.
“When you eat a diet full of fruits and vegetable rich in antioxidants it does wonders for the skin and your complexion,” Trump told More. “I also tell people to drink a lot of water and get plenty of sleep.”
