Melania Trump only follows 5 people on Twitter — and one won't make her husband happy

First lady Melania Trump may have over 9.7 million followers on her @FLOTUS twitter account, but she only follows five people — one of whom may surprise you.
Apparently, the first lady is a recent follower of her husband's predecessor — and one of his least favorite people — former President Barack Obama.

For the majority of her time as first lady, Melania only followed both of President Donald Trump's accounts, as well as Second lady Karen Pence and Vice President Mike Pence.
However, British novelist Matt Haig pointed out her new follow last Friday, tweeting, "It's a lovely bit of husband-trolling that Melania Trump only follows five people and one of them is Barack Obama."

One Twitter user suggested that the follow might have been leftover from when Michelle Obama ran the FLOTUS account.
Another was quick to refute the point, stating that "the previous FLOTUS and POTUS account have been renamed and locked as archives; these are fresh accounts, so it must be new."
When and why the first lady began following the former POTUS still remains unknown.
