Before this week, the phrase “Trump trip to Africa” might have meant a big-game hunting excursion with Donald Jr. and Eric. And while first lady Melania Trump is unlikely to slay a giraffe or elephant on her four-country, five-day tour, not even she could resist flaunting a little animal skin.

FLOTUS set off on her journey to Ghana, Malawi, Kenya, and Egypt from Maryland’s Andrews Air Force Base on Monday, waving at onlookers as she boarded Executive One in yet another head-turning designer look: a Vince suede belted trench coat (originally $1,695, but currently on sale for about $750) and heels from one of her favorite footwear designers, Manolo Blahnik.

By Tuesday morning, however, Trump had changed into a red-and-white striped shirtdress by Celine — which appears to be a modified version of this $1,895, tie-front style — and white pumps. The first lady landed in Accra, Ghana, to kick off her first solo international trip, during which she’ll promote the well-being of children and her Be Best program.

Upon arrival, she was presented with flowers wrapped in kente cloth by a young girl.

While the first lady has spoken of her excitement about discussing child welfare in Africa, many critics are taking her to task over the continued detention of migrant children at the border, as well as President Trump’s offensive remarks about “s***hole countries.” Others have accused her of flaunting her wealth in designer clothes, though her predecessor, Michelle Obama, also wore luxury labels during her trips.

    We are taking off for #Africa! So looking forward to visiting #Ghana #Malawi #Kenya & #Egypt as I take #BeBest international. #FLOTUSinAfrica2018 pic.twitter.com/8P7r0evXcU
