Melania Trump Chooses Sparkles for Joint Address

While First Lady Melania Trump has largely stayed out of the spotlight since her husband's inauguration last month, her choice of outfit during President Donald Trump's first address to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday evening definitely made her stand out from the crowd.

Opting for a sparkly skirt suit by Michael Kors, the first lady received a standing ovation when she descended the stairs into the gallery at the Capitol Building. Many were quick to note that Trump's outfit was surprisingly flashy for the occasion: According to The Hollywood Reporter, the belted blazer and matching skirt came from Michael Kors' spring 2017 collection, and cost $5,000 and $4,600 respectively.

In contrast with her stepmother, First Daughter Ivanka Trump chose to wear a $3,000 magenta sheath dress by Roland Mouret, featuring an asymmetrical neckline, "handkerchief peplum," and exposed gold zipper on the back. She shared a photo of the ensemble to Instagram prior to the start of her father's speech.
