Meijer donates $3M to MI’s first kids rehab hospital

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Meijer has donated $3 million to the Joan Secchia Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital.

The $70 million Joan Secchia Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital will be the first children’s rehabilitation hospital in Michigan and the ninth facility of its kind in the nation. It will have 24 private inpatient rooms, sophisticated technology fit for children and spaces for specialized services, a release said.

The freestanding hospital is a joint venture between Mary Free Bed and Corewell Health Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital.

New kids’ rehab hospital named after Secchia’s wife

Construction of the freestanding hospital is planned to begin this year and is expected to be completed in 2026.
