Megyn Kelly had a big year in 2017 -- between her highly-anticipated jump from FOX News to NBC, her controversial interview with Vladimir Putin and the rocky start of "Megyn Kelly Today," the television personality was the center of a lot of conversation over the last 12 months.
Kelly announced her departure from FOX News after over a dozen years at the cable news channel in January, when she put an end to speculation and confirmed that she was headed to NBC. Her Sunday night news program, "Sunday Night With Megyn Kelly" premiered in June with a much-publicized interview with Putin.
"Sunday Night With Megyn Kelly" garnered its own scandal when Alex Jones released a secret, behind-the-scenes recording of his interview with Kelly. He called her a "fraud" for manipulating him and his answers.
In September, "Megyn Kelly Today" premiered, and its first week on air was rocky, to say the least. Kelly's comments to a "Will & Grace" super-fan were much-maligned online, while her question to Jane Fonda about plastic surgery didn't go over so well with the actress.

Dogged by poor ratings and controversial moments, rumors started to swirl that publicists didn't want their clients to appear on Kelly's hour of the "Today" show, while Debra Messing said that she "regret" going on the show in the first place.
That being said, Kelly's new "Today" family defended her in the media, though sources said that Matt Lauer called NBC's hiring of Kelly a "mistake" behind closed doors.
In the months since her scandalous start on "Today," Kelly has since slightly changed her tune when it comes to discussing more serious issues on her hour of the morning show. She's continued to be incredibly outspoken about sexual harassment and has welcomed numerous victims of sexual assault and misconduct onto her show to share their stories.
In the wake of Matt Lauer's sudden termination from "Today," speculation has once again enveloped Megyn Kelly, with initial sources claiming that she was "eyeing" his spot at the top of NBC's premiere morning show. In the days since, though, insiders have changed their tune and indicated that the star is set to stay in her place at NBC.
It's been an up-and-down year for Megyn Kelly since announcing her exit from FOX News, so we'll see what 2018 brings the "Megyn Kelly Today" host.
