Meghan McCain in 'late-stage talks' to join 'The View': Report

"The View" relies on a politically diverse panel -- and looks like they've found their new token conservative!

Just hours after Jedediah Bila announced that she'd be departing the show, CNN reported that Meghan McCain is in "late-stage talks" to slide into her spot.

McCain and FOX News parted ways last week, and neither party provided an explicit reason for the decision. She has not yet publicly responded to the report.

Although McCain is a Republican, she has in the past described herself as "liberal on social issues."

Bila surprised the Monday audience with her unexpected announcement: "So this is my last day at ‘The View,'" she said. "This has just been an amazing journey and I appreciate all of you. I want to thank the viewers, even the ones that write me hate tweets.”
