From Town & Country

After splitting up for a portion of the tour, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reunited for the final few days of the trip. And this morning, the royal couple are visiting a township in Johannesburg.

The public appearance comes just one day after Prince Harry issued an unprecedented statement about the media coupled with news that Meghan is suing a British newspaper over the publication of a private letter.

It reads in part:

We thank you, the public, for your continued support. It is hugely appreciated. Although it may not seem like it, we really need it.

While in Tembisa township today, the Sussexes will meet with local youth and entrepreneurs to discuss the challenge of rising unemployment for young people in South Africa. They will also each give a speech.

For the outing this morning, the Duchess of Sussex chose to wear a white dress, which she styled with nude heels and bright pink earrings.

Over the past few days, while Prince Harry was traveling to Botswana, Angola, and Malawi, Meghan has had several private engagements in Cape Town.

For example, on Thursday, she met with activists over breakfast. “I have been so moved by what I have heard. The leadership and strength shown by these women is remarkable, and at a time when the issue of gender and gender-based violence is at the forefront of people’s minds,” the Duchess said in a statement.

“I hope their voices will resonate and not only give comfort but also create change. This is not just a South African issue, this is a global problem that can only find solution with the attention and work of everyone, regardless of gender, status, politics, race or nationality.”

Later today, Meghan and Harry will meet with Graça Machel, the widow of the late President Mandela. They will also attend an afternoon reception to highlight the U.K.'s business relationship with South Africa.

And just before departing for London, the royals will attend an audience with the South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa and his wife Dr Tshepo Motsepe to complete the tour.
