Meghan Markle used to be a “Deal or No Deal” girl, and the pictures are ~fierce~
Bad news for women who dream of becoming British citizens (oh, or members of the royal family) — things are super serious between Prince Harry and his new girlfriend. But, before she was a successful actress on the verge of becoming royalty, Meghan Markle was a Deal or No Deal girl — proving that a lot can change in 10 years.
In 2006, Markle was at the beginning of her acting career and she took the job in order to make ends meet as she auditioned for film and TV roles.
“I went from working in the U.S. Embassy in Argentina to ending up on Deal. It’s run the gamut. Definitely working on Deal or No Deal was a learning experience, and it helped me to understand what I would rather be doing,” she told Esquire.

Markle’s perseverance in one of the toughest businesses around paid off — today, she stars in USA’s critically-acclaimed TV series Suits. But, despite the promo images, Markle’s Deal or No Deal gig was less than glamorous.

As if standing up for hours in five-inch heels wasn’t bad enough, Markle also revealed that she never held the winning suitcase. “I was the ill-fated number 26, which for some reason no one would ever choose,” she explained. Ouch.

Luckily, Markle’s willingness to pay her dues in order to pursue her dream job paid off and she’ll never have to don those dreaded high heels again. The seventh season of Suits premieres next year, and she’s dating one of the world’s most eligible bachelors. Not too shabby.
