Today, Meghan Markle stepped out solo, to join key academics, university big wigs and international scholarship students to discuss the importance of higher education.

Attending alongside invitees such as Professor Lord Nicholas Stern, Chair of the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Manchester, the group met to discuss the role of higher education institutions in addressing important human rights issues.

The human rights issues that were on the table today, included human trafficking, climate change and modern slavery.

Though we've not got full length images of her outfit, we can see that Meghan wore a chic black dress to join the round table.

Markle's solo outing comes the day after she and husband Prince Harry were spotted at a Christmas carol concert on Tuesday, held each year in memory of Prince Harry's late friend.

Pippa Middleton and husband James Matthews were also in attendance at St Luke’s Church. The new mum wore a burgundy coat with a faux fur collar and a £295 printed smock dress from Kate Spade.
