Meghan Markle Gave Her Go-To Messy Bun a Royal Wedding Upgrade

The world has been following Meghan Markle's hairstyles since her engagement to Prince Harry was officially announced. All of the attention that her now-signature loose waves and messy buns receive has been leading up to the main event: her wedding day.

Markle wed Prince Harry on Saturday, May 19 at Windsor castle. Taking a cue from new sister-in-law Kate Middleton's sleek updos, the former Suits star wore her hair in a center part and twisted up into a low, voluminous chignon at the nape of her neck.

The look is a wedding day upgrade of the usual effortless updo that Markle's worn to official royal appearances with Prince Harry. But, Markle didn't completely abandon her laissez-faire style: a few face-framing strands were left loose around her face.

As per tradition, Markle wore a tiara that honored the royal family. Her sparkly hair accessory is Queen Mary’s Filigree Tiara, an ornate piece that fit perfectly beneath her veil.

And just like that, Markle became a duchess and set the bridal hairstyle trend of 2018.
