Meghan Markle's Website Shows Meaningful New Role
Now that Meghan Markle is officially the Duchess of Sussex, she gets what every modern royal in 2018 gets: her own website. Her lifestyle blog, The Tig, has been defunct for months, but Meghan now has a web presence once again, in the form of her own page on the royal family’s website.
Much of the page talks about Meghan’s charity work, and it doesn’t shy away from her past activism work, especially around feminism and activism. If it’s any indication for the future, it’s clear that Meghan won’t be keeping quiet about issues that are important to her as a royal.
The website brings up Meghan’s past history of fighting against sexism, even as a child when she campaigned against sexist language in a dish detergent ad. “These early experiences helped to shape her lifelong commitment to causes such as social justice and women’s empowerment,” the website reads.
Her page also talks about her work with UN Women and with World vision, where she highlighted girls’ lack of access to education in developing countries. “I am proud to be a woman and a feminist,” Meghan is quoted as saying on the website. The quote comes from Meghan’s 2015 speech at the UN Women conference in New York.
And that quote quickly made the rounds online.

I love this page, cause it don’t look like they will silence her thoughts or her stances.

Meghan has also said Prince Harry is a feminist, and expressed support for the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements at an official engagement. So it's not much of a stretch to say that sense of activism won't go away anytime soon.
