Mega Millions Jackpot Soars to $868 Million
The Mega Millions jackpot shot up to $868 million after no one matched all six numbers for Tuesday night’s drawing.
The winning numbers for the $667 million prize were 3, 45, 49, 61 and 69 with a Mega Ball of 9.
There were nine people that matched five white balls to earn $1 million each. There was also a Texas winner who, with the Megaplier, increased his prize to $5 million.
Friday night’s drawing will feature the second-largest prize in U.S. history.
No one has hit the jackpot since July 24, when 11 coworkers shared a $543 million jackpot.
The estimated lump sum option for Friday's jackpot is $494 million.
