Mega Millions Jackpot Climbs to an Incredible $548 Million

The Mega Millions lottery jackpot keeps climbing after Tuesday's drawing failed to turn up a match for all six numbers.

The $470 million prize was the sixth-largest jackpot in history, with a $265.3 million cash payout option.

Friday’s Mega Millions drawing will be for an estimated $548 Million, the third-largest jackpot in history.

The largest sum ever recorded was $656 million, which was shared by three people in 2012.

The current jackpot has been growing since July 24. Tuesday’s drawing was the 22nd time no one matched all six numbers.

The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot is reportedly one in 258.9 million.
