Meet Saint Agnes’ new Chief Nursing Officer

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Saint Agnes Medical Center has announced their new Chief Nursing Officer is Cheryl Harless, DNP, MBA, RN.

Harless is described as a highly motivated and enthusiastic healthcare executive with more than 19 years of leadership experience in clinical settings, including 11 years as a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Pittsburg and her MBA from Texas A&M University.

“She brings extensive experience to our ministry, both in a clinical setting given her CNO tenure, but also in organizational development, patient/family-centered care, and fiscal accountability. I look forward to working with Cheryl and am confident that she will be of great value to the Saint Agnes Leadership Team,” said Gurvinder Kaur, MD, MHA, President and Market Leader.

She began her career back in 1997 as a clinical nurse in Modesto, then eventually made her way into Sutter Health in 2011 serving as a Chief Nurse Executive in Novato. In 2016 she returned to Modesto where she served as CNO for eight years.

Serving as CNO, Harless oversaw all clinical departments including laboratory, imaging, pharmacy, nursing, peri-operative services, emergency and trauma services, quality, infection prevention, and behavioral health.

After Modesto, she worked as a CNO for Tenet Healthcare of Northern California where she oversaw six acute care hospitals.

Saint Agnes welcomed Harless as their new CNO on Monday.
