Meet Lebanon High School's 2024 valedictorian Kerigan Gill and salutatorian Kenzie Rowlett

Lebanon High School graduated 396 students in its senior class on May 11 at Middle Tennessee State University's Murphy Center.

We asked this year’s class valedictorian and salutatorian several questions about the journey that got them here and what's next.

Valedictorian

Kerigan Gill

College/ career plans: To attend George Mason University to study public administration.

What motivates you to excel in the classroom? "The thing that motivates me to excel in the classroom is thinking about my plans for the future and the steps that are necessary to get there."

Who made you better as a high school student and person? "Serena Robertson (English and AP Seminar and Student Council) made me a better student and person because she pushed me outside my comfort zone so that I could excel."

Favorite way to get away from the grind? "My favorite way to get away from all my responsibilities is to travel and visit new places."

Favorite restaurant, musical artists, TV show: "Chuy’s, Noah Kahan and 'Gilmore Girls.'"

Salutatorian

Kenzie Rowlett

College and/or career plans: To attend the University of Alabama to study Aerospace Engineering.

What motivates you to excel in the classroom? "I get motivated by just wanting to push myself to be better."

Who made you better as a high school student and person? "Matt Shrum (AP History) and Kim Atwood (AP Research) for pushing me academically and being invested in me. I’ve grown a lot in the past four years, and half of it is due to them."

What is your favorite way to get away from the grind? "Either reading or watching tons of trashy reality TV."

Favorite restaurant, musical artist, TV show? "My favorite restaurant is Little Hats Market in Germantown; my favorite music artist is either Alec Benjamin or Noah Kahan; one of my favorite TV shows is 'Merlin.'"
