Meet some of the Chiefs fans who won Peacock subscriptions from Charles Omenihu

Here’s a reminder that people in and around Kansas City will be able to watch Saturday’s Chiefs-Dolphins playoff game on KSHB (Ch. 41), either on cable or via an antenna.
Folks in, say, New York or Washington D.C. aren’t so lucky. They’ll need a Peacock subscription. That infuriated New York congressman Pat Ryan. On Friday, Ryan called the decision to put the game on Peacock by the NFL and NBC a “greedy bait-and-switch scheme.”
“It is absolutely ridiculous that my constituents, who already pay for NBC, have to pay even more to watch this game,” Ryan said in a news release. “How much more profit do Roger Goodell and NBC need to make at the expense of hard working Americans before they are satisfied? I’m demanding the NFL and NBC stop the BS and offer fans the service they already pay for, or we’re coming for your antitrust exemption.
“The NFL raked in $12 billion in 2022; NBCUniversal made almost $40 billion. They now have a choice, either fix this problem, or we’ll fix it for them.”
Chiefs defensive lineman Charles Omenihu is doing hits part to help Chiefs fans who live outside the Kansas City area. Omenihu is giving away 90 free three-month subscriptions to the streaming service.
Those fans had to respond to Omenihu’s message on X about the giveaway and explain why they wanted a free subscription. Legacy Philanthropy contacted the winners Thursday.
Here are some of those fans who won and what they wrote. There are some heartwarming stories.

Not for me, but for my dad: I’m a Chiefs fan because he’s been one since Super Bowl IV. He also fought and beat cancer this past summer. Every birthday and holiday, I buy him Chiefs gear. He’s the rock of our family. Thanks for your consideration for doing this! Go Chiefs! ️ pic.twitter.com/FjPR7uOCkF

Single mom here that is from KC but moved to Omaha last year. HUGE Chiefs family. I subscribed to Hulu Live & NFL Premium, just to be able to watch the Chiefs for the season and it has still been a pain trying to find who is streaming & what games! I’d love to be picked! pic.twitter.com/suajJSfvZa

This is very thoughtful, thanks for your generosity. My 91 year old dad currently lives in Texas. We have been Chiefs fans our whole lives. He doesn't drive at night and has declined my invitation to watch from my house. I would set this up for him. pic.twitter.com/cPfTW5Dtit

Big dawg I love it and I love having you on the #ChiefsKingdom. I would love a Peacock trial because me and my kids had to sell our season seats because the game isn’t Sunday as we assumed. We live in St. Louis and cannot get there in time for an evening game. Help us out???

My military family has moved around for 20 years and we always find ways to watch the Chiefs, even from Korea and Germany. We still live outside MO (west coast) and would love the opportunity to watch the Chiefs on Peacock this Saturday! We’ll find a way like always but…

Awesome! I am a life Long Chiefs fan (60 yrs old) and now I live in NC and just lost my job, so I can't afford a Peacock subscription. The thought of missing a Chiefs playoff game because of corporate greed is insane!

Hey Charles,
This is awesome! I live in Vancouver, WA and am a die hard Chiefs fan because my dad grew up in KC but he is now in AZ. I want to be picked so that I can set my dad up with the ability to watch you guys kick ass in these playoffs! Thanks man!— Gary Baker (@GBake96) January 10, 2024
My Wife and I both recently lost our jobs, and I'm about to have heart surgery soon. So sadly purchasing anything outside of our living expenses is impossible at the moment. We love our Chiefs, and having to miss a playoff game because of our financial situation hurts. ️

Charles, This is my 91-year-old father, a lifetime @Chiefs fan-through good and bad times. He's in assisted living here in South Carolina. He had a stroke six years ago and can't speak, but it doesn't stop him from cheering you on! #ChiefsKingdom pic.twitter.com/WFSex1YQ3i
