Medina Alert: Driver of Kia Sedona wanted in hit-and-run crash in Central Park

DENVER (KDVR) — A Medina Alert has been issued for a Kia Sedona after the driver was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run that left a bicyclist with serious injuries.

On Thursday morning, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the Denver Police Department issued the Medina Alert.

The hit-and-run crash happened near 7700 East 36th Ave. in the Central Park neighborhood at about 6:30 p.m. The area is east of Quebec Street near the Quebec Square shopping center.

FOX31 is working to confirm when the crash happened. CBI reports the hit-and-run happened on Wednesday while Denver police say Tuesday. On Thursday, Denver police confirmed the crash occurred on Tuesday.

According to CBI, the driver of a white Kia Sedona allegedly hit a bicyclist, causing them serious injuries before fleeing the scene. On Thursday, the Denver Police Department said it did not have any more specifics about the victim’s injuries, and did not know if they remained in the hospital.

The Medina Alert describes the vehicle as:

  • 2002 Kia Sedona

  • White

  • CO temporary license plate: 6209647

  • Has front-end damage

CBI said the driver may have been a Hispanic male.
