MEDIC: 1 dead, another seriously hurt in crash on I-77 in southwest Charlotte
One person was killed and another was seriously hurt in a crash on Interstate 77 in southwest Charlotte early Saturday morning, MEDIC said.
The crash happened on I-77 northbound before the Nations Ford Road exit after 1 a.m., according to officials.
North Carolina State Highway Patrol said a vehicle was traveling north on Interstate 77 when one sideswiped another car.

MEDIC said it pronounced one person dead at the scene and took another person to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Troopers said the cause of the crash was reckless driving.
