A Granite Hills High School student was taken to a hospital on Thursday by a helicopter in what school authorities called an "emergency medical response."

Apple Valley Unified School District spokeswoman Zoee Widener said the incident happened at the end of “B” lunch.

The incident involved a “minor student,” Apple Valley Fire Protection District spokeswoman Jennifer Alexy told the Daily Press.

Two students, who wished to remain anonymous, told the Daily Press that a student had fallen from a second story area of the campus.

An AVUSD press release said, “Crisis response will be available on campus for those students who need support. If you, or anyone you know, is experiencing a crisis and needs support, please call 988.”

Authorities provided no other information.
