Mechanicsburg’s state run ends at hands of Shaler in state second round

ALTOONA, Pa. (WHTM) — Mechanicsburg boys basketball made a terrific run this season but ran out of gas running into Shaler in the second round of the 5A state playoffs.

Shaler ended the Wildcats’ season with a 68-48 win at Altoona on Tuesday night. Mechanicsburg finishes the year as the 5A District III champions, and expect to return many key pieces next season. Plenty of reason for optimism in Mechanicsburg after the boys captured their first district title since 1995 and just the second ever.
