Construction work closes Coolidge Road in East Lansing
EAST LANSING — Reconstruction work has begun on Coolidge Road, closing two lanes to traffic until about June 30, city officials said.
The project should be complete by July 26, depending on weather and other factors, the Department of Public Works said.
Work will span from Lake Lansing Road at the north end to Harvard Road, just north of West Saginaw Street (Business Interstate 69) at the south.
The project involves rehabilitation of the road, installation of a concrete median island, curb and gutter improvements, construction of curb ramps, pavement striping and restoration.
During construction, there will be a three-lane closure with singular one-way traffic for a period of two weeks. The city plans to announce closures via Nixle alert, social media and the city’s website.
Local traffic will be maintained as much as possible during construction, including trash and recycling collection and mail delivery, the release said.
The city said trash and recycling collection, as well as mail delivery, will continue as usual.
