McLish Middle School competes in NAISE

Apr. 12—The Stonewall Public School McLish Middle School Annex competed in the National American Indian Science and Engineering Fair (NAISEF) which is part of the American Indian Science & Engineering Society (AISES).

The science fair is held annually and is free to all indigenous people in education nationwide and in Canada.

The science fair offers students the opportunity to compete in 8 categories of scientific research ranging from Environmental Science, Robotics, Biology, Agriculture, and Computer Coding.

This year the middle school students at McLish won 3 national category awards in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, Environmental Engineering, and Energy: Sustainable Materials and Design.

In addition to the 3 National Championships wins the middle school students won two special awards from the Sierra Club and the Oklahoma Renewable Energy Education Program (OREEP) for research in Environmental Science.
