McHenry dog fight: Fourth dog seized by animal control after deputy, 2 others injured
MCHENRY, Ill. - Update (Wednesday, April 17):
All the surviving dogs involved in the April 11 attack have been located and are now in the custody of animal control.
McHenry County deputies shared the update Wednesday afternoon, following a nearly week-long search for the fourth dog.
The dogs were all involved in an aggressive fight that occurred at the intersection of W. Huemann Drive and Stilling Boulevard.
During the attack, three dogs were loosely contained on a front porch and two other dogs were inside a car. The three dogs on the porch broke free and attacked first responders, according to police.
One of the dogs was shot and three other dogs were taken in by McHenry County Animal Control.
Police searched for the last dog and by Wednesday, their efforts came to an end.

Three individuals, including a sheriff's deputy, sustained injuries in a series of dog attacks near McHenry on Thursday.
Around 5:50 p.m., McHenry County Sheriff's police responded to reports of an aggressive dog fight at the intersection of W. Huemann Drive and Stilling Boulevard. The owner of the animals reported difficulty in separating her dogs, who were engaged in a fight, and stated that she had been bitten while attempting to intervene.
A neighbor who came to assist the owner also suffered a bite.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered three dogs loosely contained on a front porch and two dogs confined in a car. While police were conversing with the owners, the three dogs on the porch broke free and charged toward the first responders.
Officers employed tasers and a fire extinguisher in an effort to control the dogs, but one of the animals was ultimately shot. During the confrontation, one of the officers sustained a bite and received treatment at a nearby hospital.
McHenry County Animal Control took custody of three dogs, while one animal was still missing, as of Friday afternoon.
Despite ongoing efforts by officers to locate the dog, no success has been reported. Authorities caution the public to remain vigilant and not approach the animal, described as a petite pit bull with a white stripe on its face.
