McDonald's outages latest in string of problems for consumers

The outages experienced by McDonald's Friday is just the latest that have, at the least, inconvenienced customers. At their worst, an AT&T outage posed a problems for those needing to dial 911.

A nationwide AT&T outage in February lasted for several hours. The company said the outage was caused by a technical error due to "the application and execution of an incorrect process used as we were expanding our network, not a cyberattack."

The company said it will be giving a $5 credit to customers affected by the nationwide telecommunication outage.

Earlier this month, Facebook went down. Also affected were Messenger, Instagram and Threads. Caused by a technical issue, over half a million Facebook outages were reported on  DownDetector at the time.
