McDonald’s Debuts Donut Sticks to Have You Lovin’ Breakfast
You may have heard the rumors, and now it’s a reality. Donut Sticks are coming to McDonald’s nationwide!
The golden brown treat is sprinkled with cinnamon sugar, and has a crunchy outside and soft inside. Donut Sticks will be available for a limited time beginning on Feb. 20. The release promotes the fast food restaurant’s “perfect pair,” Donut Sticks and McCafé coffee. You can enjoy the combination during breakfast hours.
The donuts come by the half-dozen and dozen, are made fresh throughout the morning, and are never microwaved. Since McDonald’s sees them as the ideal treat to go with their coffee, there will be a special price when you get a half-dozen Donut Sticks and small McCafé coffee.
“We are proud of our breakfast offerings, and excited to share new Donut Sticks with our customers,” Linda VanGosen, vice president of Menu Innovations at McDonald’s, said in a press release. “Donut Sticks are the perfect complement to our existing breakfast lineup, and pair deliciously with our fresh brewed premium roast McCafé coffee.”
Donut Sticks were tested in select Illinois locations in early 2018 and October 2018. After trying out different doughs and amount of cinnamon sugar, according to the release, the right recipe was found.
McDonald’s typical breakfast menu consists of various breakfast sandwiches, pancakes, yogurt parfait, and, of course, hash browns. Donut Sticks add a sweet start to the day!
