Maywood woman provides support for domestic violence survivors

MAYWOOD, Ill. — Remona Sanders, a longtime Maywood resident who runs “Inellas Restoration Center,” started a nonprofit aimed at helping those impacted by domestic violence.

She returned to school to get a Masters Degree in Social Work so she could give others what he own mother never had.

Her belief that change starts with education led her to teaching a “Inellas’ Healthy Relationship” class.

Since starting “Inellas Restoration Center,” Sanders has led countless weekly support groups, outreach giveaways, clothing drives, and community meetings with those called to help.

Her dedication to helping the community has landed her a nomination for the Remarkable Women campaign.
