Mayor corruption investigation under way in Bosnia

Mayor anti-corruption investigation launched against top Bosnia officials

SARAJEVO, BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA (AP) -- Bosnian police have searched the office of the presidency and other government buildings as part of an investigation into corruption among top public officials.

The Bosnian prosecutor's office announced Friday the searches were part of an investigation in one of the country's two parts, the Bosniak-Croat Federation.

It declined to provide additional details.

Bosnia consists of two highly independent parts, the Serb-run Republika Srpska and the Bosniak-Croat Federation. Each has its own president, government and parliament.
