Two teams with long winning streaks saw their seasons end with a loss and thus a drop in the MaxPreps Xcellent 50 National Baseball Rankings.

Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.) had not lost to a New Jersey team during the season after losing to a Florida team in late March. Although the Ironmen won the Non-Public A North Sectional tournament, they fell 7-0 to Christian Brothers Academy in the Non-Public A state final. The loss drops Don Bosco Prep to No. 24 in the rankings while Christian Brothers Academy enters the rankings at No. 23.

Meanwhile, San Dimas won its first 31 games of the season and rose to No. 3 in last week's rankings. However a 4-1 loss to Walnut in the Southern Section Division 3 semifinals ended the season for San Dimas. Walnut then lost in the section final, thus dropping San Dimas out of the rankings completely.

In a showdown between two of the top teams in Texas, previous No. 7 Dallas Jesuit dropped previous No. 6 Oak Ridge in two games in the Region 2 championship series to advance to the state tournament. Dallas Jesuit moves up to No. 5 while Oak Ridge falls to No. 15.
