Matthew Perry Reveals the ‘Friends’ Storyline He Turned Down
On Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Matthew Perry had to answer some hard-hitting questions about Friends. That’s right — he’s still being asked about Friends. In this case, he revealed an episode of Friends that could have been.
Cohen asked Perry if there was ever a storyline that he thought jumped the shark or that he just didn’t like — and it turns out there was.
“There was a storyline on Friends where Chandler went to a male strip joint because he really liked the sandwiches,” Perry said. “I called up and I said, ‘Let’s not do this one.’”
And that episode was never made.
Cohen had other interesting Friends behind-the-scenes questions for Perry. All this happened in a segment called Plead the Fifth, and Cohen came with something that Perry was absolutely not going to answer.
“Marry. Shag. Kill. Your Friends co-stars. Aniston, Kudrow, Courteney Cox,” Cohen said.
Perry almost immediately pleaded the Fifth.
