Mass brawl and protests in Georgian parliament over controversial 'foreign agents' law – video

A massive brawl broke out in the Georgian parliament between representatives of the ruling party and opposition MPs who were trying to reason with them on May 14.
The conflict erupted before the decisive vote on the so-called "law on foreign agents."
Its opponents insist that the document, introduced by the Georgian Dream of Prime Minister Irakli Gabriashvili, who is accused of flirting with the Kremlin regime, is analogous to the Russian one adopted in 2017 by the State Duma to combat dissent.
In this regard, mass protests began in Tbilisi, accompanied by clashes between demonstrators and security forces surrounding the parliament.

Against this backdrop, during a speech by the head of the United National Movement, Levan Khabeishvili, a ruling party MP, Dmitri (Dito) Samkharadze, began shouting insults at the opposition leader, which led to a verbal altercation between them that eventually escalated into a fight.
Despite all of these events, the scandalous law was passed, which further aggravated the political situation in the country.
The document introduces the registration of non-profit legal entities and media outlets that receive more than 20% of their income from abroad as "organizations acting in favor of a foreign state."
