Masked burglar forces victim from Uptown home to withdraw money from ATMs

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A victim reported that an aggravated burglary occurred at his Uptown home the morning of Wednesday, May 22.

According to New Orleans police, one of the six residents of 7021 Willow St. was awake when the incident happened.

The victim reported that the suspect, a male wearing a ski mask and carrying a green gun, came up to him and demanded that he turn over the residents’ belongings, to which he complied.

The victim told New Orleans Police Department officers that the suspect forced him to go with him to numerous ATMs to withdraw money. The amount of money taken has not been disclosed.

Upon leaving the ATMs, the victim was released at the corner of St. Charles and Jefferson avenues, where he went home and contacted the NOPD.

The suspect drove away from the scene in a vehicle in an unknown direction. The vehicle has not been identified or located at this time.
