Last week, we asked you to capture a photo that expressed a work in progress. We were excited to see the results -- which included a young, budding ballerina, a family of owls and the first stages of a pineapple.

Even though our challenge this week is inspired by Earth Day, we encourage you to interpret "green" in any way you choose. Send us anything from a photo of a grasshopper to your cat wearing a green hat. Be creative! Whether you have a smartphone, a DSLR or a point-and-shoot camera, take advantage of the tools you have. If you capture photos on your cellphone, feel free to use this opportunity to find a cool app to create a captivating photo.

How To Enter the Challenge
- Take a picture that represents green to you. Be sure to include a caption describing your photo.
- Upload your photo to Facebook, Flickr, Twitter, Instagram or the photo-sharing service of your choice, and drag and drop it in the picture widget below OR
- Tweet your photo to @mashablehq with the hashtag #MashPics. If you need more than one tweet to write your caption, just send us another tweet.
We will choose images based on composition, originality and overall appeal.
Submit your photo by Wednesday, April 25 at 12:00 p.m. EST. We'll feature some of our favorite photos on Mashable, as well as on our Facebook page. We can't wait to see what you capture!
