Maryland weather: Rain, thunderstorms expected through Memorial Day weekend

May 22—The National Weather Service is calling for a chance of rain and thunder through most of Baltimore's Memorial Day weekend.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms started Wednesday night and is expected to last until 11 a.m. Thursday. Thursday afternoon is predicted to have a high temperature of around 83 degrees before showers and thunderstorms return after 5 p.m., when there is a 40% chance of rain.

Friday, there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms from the early morning through the afternoon, when temperatures are expected to reach the high 80s. Rain is anticipated to continue through Friday night into Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon is forecast to have a high temperature of around 84 degrees with a 60% chance of rain and a possibility of thunderstorms through the night.

Sunday is expected to be sunny with highs in the upper 80s before a chance of showers sets in after 2 p.m., when there is a 30% chance of rain.

Memorial Day is predicted to have a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. with temperatures reaching the low 80s and an 80% chance of rain. Monday night also has a chance of showers and thunderstorms with a 60% chance of rain.
