Maryland Live! to begin table games in April

Maryland's largest casino to start table games like blackjack in April

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Maryland's largest casino says it's on track to open live table games in April.

Maryland Live! announced Tuesday that table games like blackjack will begin on April 11, pending final regulatory approval.

The casino says it will have 122 table games. In addition to that, about 50 poker tables will be added when a two-level poker room is finished by this summer.

Maryland Live! also says less than 10 percent of the property's slot machine inventory has been removed to create room for table games. That means there are more than 4,300 slot machines at the casino next to Arundel Mills Mall in Hanover.

The casino says it has nearly doubled its staff with the addition of more than 1,200 new employees, including 800 dealers and table games personnel.
