Maruti Suzuki has recalled 20,427 units of the S-Cross to inspect a suspected fault in brakes, and if need be, also replace the faulty part. Both the variants of the S-Cross that is the DDiS 200 (1.3-litre diesel) and the DDiS 320 (1.6-litre diesel), are a part of this recall.

The carmaker says that if the suspected component is faulty, it can cause seepage of the brake fluid. Technicians will check for this issue and will replace the faulty part without any extra cost.

The S-Cross models produced from 20 April, 2015 to 12 February, 2016 are affected by this recall. S-Cross owners can themselves check if their vehicle is a part of this recall. They can log on to www.nexaexperience.com and fill in their 14-digit chassis number. Owners can also contact their respective Nexa dealership to ascertain if their vehicle has been impacted.

Maruti Suzuki will inform the concerned consumers through Nexa dealers for recalling these specific vehicles. Dealers will then contact the owners to make the necessary changes and replacements. Such recalls are a good measure taken by manufacturers themselves to keep a check on the safety of passengers from time to time.
