Marlington Local school bus rear-ended in Alliance crash

ALLIANCE −A vehicle rear-ended a Marlington Local School bus carrying four students to Lexington Elementary School Tuesday morning, the district's superintendent told Fox 8 News.

Police Lt. Michael Yarian said someone reported the crash on South Sawburg Avenue and Overcrest Street NE around 7:57 a.m. The accident scene was about half a mile north of West State Street.

He said he had no reports of anyone being transported to an area hospital. Yarian said the police officer who investigated the crash has not yet filed the report.

Marlington Local School Supt. Dan Swisher told Fox 8 that paramedics evaluated the children, the bus driver and a bus aide. The district notified the parents of the four students about what happened and arranged for another bus to transport them to their school.

Swisher could not be reached for comment.
