Marlboro County man accused of sexually assaulting 2 young children more than a decade ago

MARLBORO COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A Marlboro County man is facing accusations that he sexually assaulted two young children at a home in the Bennettsville area more than a decade ago.

Authorities charged Kenny Delaunte Jones, 38 of Blenheim, with first-degree and third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor on Thursday. The charges stemming from alleged incidents in 2012 and 2013 are the result of an investigation that began when a report was filed with deputies on Feb. 27.

The alleged abuse involved two children, who were both younger than 11 years old, deputies said. Jones was taken into custody on unrelated charges on March 22 and taken to the Marlboro County Detention Center.

He remains in custody after being denied bond Friday at a hearing in Marlboro County Magistrate Court.
