Summit to acquire MarkWest pipelines, other gas gathering assets in Doddridge for $210M
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- Summit Midstream Partners is acquiring pipelines and other natural gas gathering assets in Doddridge County from MarkWest Energy Partners, L.P.
The companies announced the $210 million cash deal on Wednesday in a news release. It's expected to close this month.
The sale includes two compressor stations, more than 40 miles of high-pressure gas gathering pipelines and pipeline rights-of-way.
MarkWest says gas gathered by the system will be processed at its Sherwood processing complex in Doddridge County.
The system will gather gas produced by an affiliate of Antero Resources under a long-term, fee-based contract.
Summit president and CEO Steve Newby says the deal gives the company entry into the Marcellus Shale field.
