Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has eclipsed everyone's favourite good-guy billionaire Warren Buffett to become the third richest person in the world. According to Bloomberg, Zuckerberg has a net worth of $81.6 billion (£61.5bn).

He got his boost past Buffett due to a 2.4% climb in the value of Facebook's shares. Turns out there's nothing better for business than two years of constantcontroversy.

He may have $373 million (£281m) over Buffett, but Zuckerberg is still trailing Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos, who are respectively worth $94.2 billion (£71bn) and $142 billion (£107bn). This is the first time the top three richest people on the planet are all from the tech world.

Buffett, once the richest person himself, has slipped to a positively embarrassing number four due to his insistence on making donations to worthy causes. Between 2000 and 2017, Buffett gave away 71% of his wealth – $46 billion (£34.7bn).

Fun fact: combined, the members of the top four are worth a figure that's equal to 2% of the US gross domestic product. That's four dudes who equal more than two percent of all the wealth produced in the richest country on the planet.
