Marine taken into custody after shooting incident at Camp Lejeune

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. (WNCT) — A Marine is in custody after a shooting incident that happened Saturday afternoon aboard Camp Lejeune, according to officials.

Capt. Jacob Sugg with Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune told WNCT’s Erin Jenkins said there was an incident on the base where shots were fired. There are no reported injuries and the suspect was taken into custody. There are no public safety concerns at this time.

The name of the suspect has not been released as of Saturday night. An investigation into what led up to the shooting was still ongoing.
