All we want for Christmas each holiday season is Mariah Carey's high-pitched croon blasting through our apartments as we deck the halls and hang our stockings. It's been 22 years since Mimi gifted the world with the angelic vocals and soothing harmonies on "All I Want for Christmas Is You," and the track is arguably the one that officially reminds us that, well, 'tis the season.

It's no surprise then, that the 46-year-old star delivered quite the epic Christmas moment during VH1's Divas Holiday: Unsilent Night special on Monday, when she commanded our attention and reminded us that there's only one Hollywood vocalist capable of owning the holiday. Dressed in a sequin-adorned red bodysuit with a suit-like design, padded, tasseled shoulder detailing and a sexy deep-V cut, Carey, fresh off the premiere of her new E! show, Mariah's World, didn't fail to stand out.

Watch the clip here:

Hunky male dancers in sleeveless vests bopped behind her, carried her up into the sky, and eventually brought her back down to earth. But what, exactly, separated this performance of "All I Want for Christmas Is You" from the rest? Resiliency.

Below, four reasons why Carey is still on top.

Mariah could easily take the stage in a high-slit slip dress that shows off her curves, but why not up the ante? She dared to wear a revealing bodysuit and flaunted her toned legs and hourglass shape. Worrrk.

It's Been 22 Years, STRONG

Imagine having to sing the same song for 22 years every single Christmas and act just as excited to hear the jam as that first time you heard it. After two decades of performing the track, Carey has chosen to repeatedly make appearances and bring holiday cheer for all. That's love.

She Still Aims High

Like any athlete, performance levels vary in a lifetime. Yes, some of her renditions of the song have not been the most forgiving, but Carey has altered the track to work for her. The point? She's still got the fortitude to go after those tough-to-muster notes any of us wouldn't dare to attempt.

It's Always Spectacular

To our knowledge, there's no contract that obliges Carey to hop off of a sleigh and stand in front of a parade of dancers dressed in cheery looks perfect for, yes, a televised special. But Mariah always pulls out all the stops, making us elevate our Christmas decor and really ring in the spirit of the season.
