The 45-year-old told TMZ there was no way she was showing up to her high school reunion, saying: “Why would I go to anything I didn’t create myself?”

Harborfields High School’s class of 1987 probably aren’t surprised that their most famous alumni won’t be attending their little shindig, but they might be shocked to hear she’s already had a reunin without them.

The multiplatinum artist revealed she’d already returned to the Greenlawn, New York school in 1999 to film a special.

“I made my own high school reunion. It’s called Homecoming - you can look it up on Youtube,” she said.

So obviously, we did…

The special involved Mariah giving a performance in the gym to some very excited students, along with Jay-Z and some other collaborators.

She also walked down the halls of her old high school pointing out things like the nurse’s office and chatting to her former principal.

The singer never actually reunited with any of her classmates but hey, when you’re getting number ones just three years after graduating, who has time to stay in touch?

The sultry singer was recently honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame and brought her twins, Moroccan and Monroe along to the ceremony.

We think that’s just a little bit better than Prom Queen, right?
