The 2024 Ouachita Parish primary elections saw a turnout of nearly 103,000 registered voters, according to the Louisiana Secretary of State's Office.

Ouachita Parish witnessed a total of 102,729 registered voters exercising their right to vote in the primary elections that featured Monroe City races for mayor and council seats.

Early voting totals reached 8,266, broken into 2,700 absentee ballots and 5,566 in-person votes.

In the current election season, Republican voters outnumber Democratic voters at the polls, with 8,028 registered Republicans casting their ballots compared to 4,978 Democrats; a reversal from the July 11, 2020 primary elections featuring Monroe mayoral and council races.

Participation among Black voters declined in this recent election cycle, with numbers decreasing from 10,117 in 2020 to 7,844. The number of Black voters who cast their ballots early decreased from 4,041 in 2020 to 3,365 this cycle.

Ouachita Parish continues to witness higher participation of women in the voting processes as opposed to men, with 10,660 women exercising their right to vote versus 7,036 men.
